All of the food is homemade and the owner bakes all of the desserts. They're great and the ones I want to try at some later date look phenomenal too (pecan bars--yum). The service is kind of cafeteria style.Peasant is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. It offers modern Italian food with a classy, but homey feeling. As you enter the restaurant, you walk into a stylish lounge. Behind that is a decent size dining room with various larger tables for parties.
